Tonga is an archipelago located in Oceania and consists of 176 islands. The capital, Nuku’alofa, is located on the most important island: Tongatapu. Royal Tombs of Tonga
In the middle of the main street and in front of the Basilica of Tonga, a huge esplanade surrounded by a fence limits the tombs of the Royal family. At about 100 meters a modest complex of tombs, altars, and columns where lie the tombs of the last 5 kings of the Topou dynasty, the only kingdom that exists in the entire South Pacific. Among them, the recently deceased Topou V (whose brother has taken the throne as Topou VI) and one of the most loved and known, Queen Salote (Topou III).
